Communities are a product of their past: cur- rent development activities take place against a historical backdrop. Historical factors may hinder or help the implementation of com- munity forestry projects; what is undisput- able is that they will have some impact on the success of those projects. The population history reflects the ancestral origins of the community. The present effort to present students of this branch of sociology, that is, human psychology, contains a clear text and methodological analyses of the vital aspects.
