Social Work, Psychiatry and the Law

This text explores the approved social worker's role in contemporary mental health practice. It combines a description of various aspects of multi-disciplinary working, with accounts of clinical signs and syndromes, set against the possibilities and challenges inherent in the ASW's duties. The authors have experience of ASW practice, training and teaching, and whilst the text is simply and concisely written, it contains a number of complex case examples which illuminate and test policy and practice.
