The Evidence for Urology

FIRST PRIZE Winner in the Urology category of the 2005 BMA Medical Book Competition.Why do any of us hold the views that we do in practising urology? Factors which influence our current views will include prejudices picked up during our training. Our own experience or that of our colleagues will also, in some way, have an effect on the decisions that we take. With the changing financial climate in medicine as a whole it is imperative that decisions taken affecting patient treatment are made using the best available evidence - something that until now has rarely been the case. This book, uniquely in the field of urology, is the collaborative work of a number of distinguished authors and covers a wide range of challenging issues in urology. The subject matter has in each case been carefully reviewed to include the evidence base which influences current thinking in that area.
