This book is the third in a series of textbooks aimed at the student market, rather than as general all encompassing reference books. The material is designed in a structured, directed format to help develop understanding, rather than providing a simple source of information. Uniquely it covers refurbishment and maintenance in both housing and large-span multistorey commercial and industrial buildings. There is a focus on the environmental impact of refurbishment rather than new build, with a view to developing student knowledge of sustainability. The book includes hotlinks to enable students to search for further information, review tasks, review summaries and 'pop ups' to highlight points of interest or explain technical terms.
