Drawing on the oral histories of 160 women in 18 countries, Walsh (disability studies, University College Dublin) and LeRoy (developmental disabilities, Wayne State University) look at what women with intellectual disabilities experience as they age and explore contributing factors to healthy aging for this population. They discuss the importance of economic factors, health and nutrition, recreation, and relationships, and examine the influence of disability policies and programs on all of these factors.
