Greece is at a critical juncture of its recent history. The economic policies of the last three decades have brought it close to bankruptcy. Much of the debate about Greece's current problems has focused on the short-run management of the crisis. This book contributes to public debate by bringing into discussion important economic, political and social issues which have played a major role in preventing Greece's transformation into a modern capitalist economy.
